Packing Priorities
December 19th, 2006 | View Comments
It’s winter break (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!) and that means visiting family and eating tasty food (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!) and lots and lots of guilt-free knitting time (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!) and lots and lots of reading journal articles/paper writing (this part is for my advisor, in case he’s reading).
This is the knitting I packed for my vacation:
I packed 4 skeins of sock yarn and 5 skeins of Cascade 220 for a felted bag. I also packed both Quinn bags so I can use my mom’s sewing machine to make linings since my hand-sewing is worthless. And of course I still need to finish the Red Herring Scarf, which I frogged 18 inches of today after I discovered an error in the moss stitch border.
When all was said and done, I’d devoted more space in my suitcase to yarn and other knitterly goodness than I had to underwear and socks. Got to have your priorities straight, y’know.

Underwear are greatly overrated, yarn is not. A girl has got to have her priorities!
Oh wow, I found my cog psych TA. I had noticed you knitting in class -you also had this really nice Rogue sweater that caught my attention… anyway your blog was linked from Eunny Jang’s site, that’s how I got here. Nice work you have here! Have a great vacation.
Hey Mine!
Welcome to the blog! I didn’t know you were a knitter! Half the grad students in my department (at least) knit. It keeps us sane.
You have a good break too!
Hello, I’m wanting to make the Quinn pattern; what does “provisionally cast on” mean?
