Some of you may remember that my other hobby is web design*.

I’ve just posted a new knitting-related WordPress theme (I gave up on designing for Blogger, sorry). Check it out!

It’s a re-working of the second theme pictured here. The new version is widget-ready, is more visually interesting, and is powered by fancier/cleaner code.

*Actually, I have many other hobbies, and all of them play a role in my plan for world craft domination. Martha Stewart better watch her back, is all I’m sayin’. But that’s a post for another day.

Faces of Yve features a bunch of web design tutorials (code and graphics) and free blog templates. The current issue is specifically targeted at bloggers who may have done a little bit of tweaking to their templates, but want to do more on the customization front.

Being that I am lazy and boring, I don't want to, nor do I want to have to re-specify the same width and the same colors for each bar. So I streamlined a bit and also updated the <script> tags so they're compatible with the XHTML 1.0 Strict web standard. If you're like me and are perfectly happy to have each bar the same, except for the percentage of color filler, then you can use the following code instead. Apologies to anyone who tried to use the old code and couldn’t make it work.

I just installed the percentage bar script from Unlikely Words on my blog, which is a very nice little doodad.

I made a few small modifications to the script. The script as originally written allows you to specify a different width and different colors for each percentage bar if you want to.
