Colors Changing

It’s been pretty cold recently, so I lugged the Ombre Blanket out to do some work on it. If you keep tabs on my progress bars to the left, you may have noticed that it dropped from 60% finished to less than halfway done. No, I didn’t have to frog; I just discovered that I was way, way optimistic about my progress. Out of the planned eleven stripes of color, I had finished four. Oops. I’ve got a bit more done now, but there’s still a long way to go.

Ombre blanket, almost halfway done!

Twenty-five skeins down, twenty-five more to go.

I just started on the orange yarn, yay! There’s the rest of the orange/red stripe, then a solid orange stripe, then orange/yellow, solid yellow, yellow/white, and solid white. And then I’ll be done.

The Ombre Blanket is sort of my knitting penance. I started it nearly two years ago. It is large, and it is boring to knit. But it is the perfect project for those days when I’m chilled right to the bone. I deck myself out in layers, wool socks and handwarmers, and curl up in a corner of my couch with the blanket spread out over my lap.

This is going to be the warmest blanket in the universe.

I’m working on one of those, too… I’m knitting it in the colors in the book for my fiancee. I started it a year and a couple months ago, and I’m halfway done. Hopeing to finish it by Christmas, but the thing isn’t going to knit itself, so I should really think about picking it up. *lol* :)

Beautiful blanket, I’m sure it will be well worth all your hard work!

This is looking lovely! It does appear to be very warm, just the thing to be knitting during the winter :0)
