Needles: Addi Turbos, US 4 (3.5mm)
Looky, looky, it’s done! I was a little uncertain about the design as I was knitting it, but I do love the finished product. It looks great either under or over a wool pea coat. The finished fabric has a nice, flowy drape, but is still nice and warm. This one’s a winner.

Pattern: Shedir, from the breast cancer awareness mini-issue of Knitty by Jenna Wilson
Yarn: Gedifra Cashmerino, #1446, 2 skeins
Needles: Addi Turbos, US 3 (3.25mm)
Yay, I have a new hat that fits my head! Getting it to fit my head took some serious blocking, though.
First, the pattern is for a snug-fitting hat to begin with. Second, I was getting a smaller gauge than the pattern called for; I probably should have knit it on US 4s instead of 3s. So I took a page from the lace handbook and stretched it way, way out during blocking. I think I stretched it to a 20″ circumference instead of the 17″ or 18″ in the pattern. And now it fits my head perfectly.

…that I don’t have.
A friend commented today that my Amazon wish list is “knitting heavy.” I told him that it didn’t contain the half of it, as Amazon’s selection of yarn and other knitting supplies is woefully nonexistent.
In addition to the very enticing Victorian Lace Today and Cables Untangled, among many other knitting books, and the horribly out-of-place The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death (I have weird fascinations with miniatures and true crime), here is a list of things that I hope, hope! I might get for Christmas or my birthday:

This is the silver-blue over ice somewhat solid yarn from Sundara yarn, destined to become a Print o’ the Wave stole for me, or I may try to design something.
