Wave of Babies Booties, Knitting Pattern Posted

Wave of Babies Booties

Pattern: My own, download it here!
Yarn: Plymouth Encore, #1203, #599, #208, #515, #9621, #9401, #1202
Needles: Addi Turbos, US 7 (4.5mm)

These are my sanity-restoring baby booties. I’ve had the pattern written up for forever, I just needed to knit more samples. And then I knit the samples, but just needed to take pictures. And then I let the pictures sit, even though all I had to do was plop them into the pattern, convert to pdf, and upload.

Oh, and update the web site. Which is done now, so I’m going to bed. :) While I sleep, you can download the pattern and knit some booties.

Please Take Some of this Yarn Off My Hands

June 27th, 2008 | 1 Comment

Update July 12, 2008: Please see this post for updated stash sale info.

So…what have I been up to this last month? Not hiding from my fellow knitters, that is for sure. I did a very cool project for Lauren at LaBeana Bags, which you may see the fruits of shortly. And I am in the last stages of:

  • Figuring out dissertation logistics—the proposal is written, I just need to put out a fire on the experimental logistics front
  • Wedding planning
  • Moving planning

And that last item is what bwings us togevaaaaaaah today.

Let’s face it, I have no use for bulky wool in Texas. So I beg of y’all who have actual winters to please take some of it off my hands. Along with some orphan yarn and yarn that I’m just tired of looking at. All yarn has been stored in drawers or plastic ziploc bags in a smoke-free, pet-free home.

If you’re interested in any of the yarn listed below or if you have any questions, please send me an e-mail. Prices listed are in USD and include first-class shipping to the contiguous 48 states.

There are Real People on the Internet

May 22nd, 2008 | 2 Comments

My knitting blog and real life just collided at the yarn shop.

I was sporting the original Quinn bag, as usual, when I heard a voice from behind me in the checkout line.

“I recognize your bag! I made one!”

She had lots of nice things to say about the pattern and the bag. I was so busy being extremely weirded out that not only are you people on the other side of the internet real*, but y’all actually knit my stuff, that I forgot to even ask her name.

So, mystery Quinn knitter if you’re reading this…hi! Please out yourself in the comments! And feel free to describe how doofy I am in real life, hehe.

*It’s not like I haven’t met internet people before, but for some reason it never stops being weird to me.
