Have you tried putting cardboard or foil in the windows, along with heavy curtains/blankets hung to block the heat that comes in? It looks trashy, but it helps to keep it much cooler inside. I'm from Texas, so I can sympathize. :(
In the summer every window except the livingroom's gets 'foiled up', and we hang extra sheets/blankets up. I'd rather have people laugh than to sweat all day!</description>
