Knitting While Walking = More Time to Knit

I’d heard of knitting while walking, but never actually tried it. I figured I’m already prone to tripping over my own feet while walking normally, I probably don’t need extra distractions.
But there was something about today.
I threw Quinn #2 into the eggplant bag and headed for the bus. I knit at the bus stop. I knit on the bus. And when I got off the bus, I…kept knitting.
I knit as I crossed the street.
I knit as I moved my feet.
I knit as I climbed some stairs.
I knit as I got some stares.
Not only was I knitting while walking, but I was cabling while walking.
I am awesome.
I like to walk to/from school—it’s good exercise—but it always kind of bugged me that walking meant creating a half hour of unproductivity each way. I tried listening to podcasts en route, but the street noises are too loud to really be able to hear.
But if I could knit while walking to/from school each day…
Or what about knitting at the gym? On the exercise bike? On the treadmill?
Would you, could you, knit while jogging?
Would you, could you, knit while blogging?
I do not like green eggs and ham.
But I will knit them, Sam I am!
The possibilities are endless.

I haven’t yet gotten to where I can knit while walking, but I knit everywhere, so I guess I make up for that.
Well, I am thoroughly impressed! I can barely chew gum and walk at the same time :0)
I bow to your superior skills! Maybe if I knit chunky yarn on big needles, knitwalking would work for me.
