Great news about needles! KnitPicks now makes wooden needles in circs and Options, and I'm here to tell you those points are sharp! They have a better grab than Addi Lace, and because they are made of variously dyed birch layers the yarn is much easier to see. I've been working on that pale orange Jane Sowerby shawl from Knitter's magazine, Fall 07, p. 42. Zero yarn weight on brass needles put me to sleep every time, just too hard to see and kinda the same color. Anyway, those needles are my new love of the week. I have been putting bamboo needles in the battery pencil sharpener and touching up with 600-grit sandpaper, but that doesn't work for smaller needles....

Congrats on the shawl! and I think those socks are lovely--great color!

great socks, and thanks for the 'modification details', i love to read how people knit up patterns and why they change things - like the toe.. I always wonder if the world has more pointy feet than me?
